BOSE Premium Sound, Really?

Agreed. As my old tired ears are losing their hearing ability due to many years of rock n roll during the 70's & 80's on custom sound systems back in the day, this BOSE system is all I need at this point in my life. My sound is premium enough for me!

A complaint I have about the radio in my LT TB is.... for being premium sound in a $64K US truck, I have heard way better from basic setups. My old truck for one. This truck is totally lacking bass, which I see in other premium packages that include a sub- woofer. I have gone into the EQ and played with the settings and fader and still not even getting close to the sound I had in the RAM. Without adding an after market add on, has anyone found the sweet spot for your current setup? It is really sad that I have to add to something that I paid for in the first place. Usually, when I by anything BOSE anything, it has always been top notch, heck even 12 years ago we had an Nissan Armada with a BOSE system in it and it was awesome. Definitely thinking about the next time I am at the dealer, complain to them about the non premium sound I am getting from my stock premium sound. Sorry just me venting. But I would be interested if anyone has maybe found a good setting for the STOCK premium sound. I do see a lot of info on YouTube adding a subwoofer which would definitely help this setup extremely. But I just feel I shouldn't have too.

My 2019 has the sub and I have to keep the bass slightly below 50% or it's too overwhelming. It's definitely not a license plate rattling bass like down to 15-20hz, but just a good punchy bass. I'm extremely picky about quality sound as I have about $3200 in my theater system at home, and I'm pretty satisfied with this system. Best factory setup in any vehicle that I've ever had.

I picked up a 2021 recently with the Bose system and not super happy with it. Does anyone know where the subwoofer is? I don't feel a lot of the bass so want to ensure the sub is working as it should.

I run pandora from my phone through a USB cord.

You can get better sound if you adjust equalizer on tour phone......but, I know what you mean....it's pretty fuxkin weak. Better than the lifters, I guess.

I have a 2020 with the Bose Premium sound system and I am actually very happy with it.
If I put if volume 1/2 way up my mirror is shaking and I can feel the sub woofer in center console banging :)
I get zero distortion too when I crank it louder than I can listen to it.
I have no complaints. I play my music from a USB stick if that matters?

.

it's under the center console towards the front somewhere? I never took it apart , so I can't say exactly.
Half volume is VERY LOUD and I never turn it much past there. It sounds great IMO, much better than anything I even had.

Just to clarify, on my truck the "Bose Premium speakers with subwoofer"
was part of the "convenience package II" package.
Does the lower end Bose radio also come on the "convenience package" ? IF it does, maybe that's where the confusing is coming from?

I would call https://www.crutchfield.com/ in Charlottesville Virginia, they are great to work with and have detailed instructions and all of the hardware to hook up just about anything. I've been dealing with them since 1979. The factory 6" sub (if equipped) is actually very good, it doesn't give license plate rattling bass but it does give it a good punchy bass sound. An inexpensive 8" sub such as the Rockville SS8P from Amazon for $99.95 will fit under the seat nicely and gives amazing bass for the size. I doubt if Crutchfield sells any that cheap, but they will probably sell you the instructions to hook it up for just a small fee. You could just tell them that you bought a used one from a friend and need to know how to hook it up. I put the 8" Rockville under the seat in a 2003 Envoy and I was amazed at the sound for only $100 and I'm extremely picky when it comes to quality sound. There are probably numerous videos on youtube as well on how to hook it up.

Hubby's Silver 2019, known as The Beast, is without the "premium" sound system, no Bose. Drove it for about 3 months before I took it into our local audio place and had all the speakers replaced, sounds awesome now even without a sub. My Shadow Gray 2019 with the "premium" Bose system is being delivered tomorrow and I'm hoping I don't have to get a sub installed but we'll see. Also will name it when I see it in person :). Will post an update.

For those with the Bose system, I replaced the speakers on top of the dash with a pair of Pioneer speakers with excellent reviews, and they were no match for the Bose speakers. Not as clear with the highs and only about half as loud. Replacing the door speakers on the Bose system my help however but haven't tried it yet.

Was the pioneer speakers not as clear and half as loud or are you describing the Bose speakers?

The Pioneers were not as clear or as loud. Luckily I only snipped the wires on one speaker instead of both so I only had one to solder back up. I alternated touching the wires between both numerous times with different types of music, and the Bose speakers were the clear winner. If the Pioneer would have been louder then it may have actually sounded as good or possibly better, but if anyone else tries swapping out the dash speakers I would strongly recommend that you get speakers with a high SPL spec.

Just picked up a ‘24 a few days ago. I know I have the woofer in the center console area, but does anyone know if it has an accessible gain control at the unit itself? That’s to say, ASIDE from the equalizer controlling the HU?
