Hello and Help

Well, I did it. I guess that I am officially part of the group now.

Glad to join the forum, and hopefully very soon, join the community of Trail Boss ownership. I hate to do introductions with questions, but I have some.
I do not know if this is in the correct area, so forgive me if it is not. I thought I could manage with a midsize truck, but after not having one, I realize that I really need a full-size. I am currently looking at a new 2023 Custom Trail Boss. I really like the truck, but I have a few concerns. I currently own a 2022 Tacoma TRD Off Road with the six speed manual. My truck has the premium package which includes leather. I also have the LED headlight package. My truck also has BSM and adaptive cruise control. My question is, has anyone else made a swap like this? Will I regret getting rid of the adaptive cruise control and LED headlights? My main concern is the halogen headlights on the Custom Trail Boss. Are they decent, or will I regret going back to the halogen headlights? Thanks for any help in advance.
I hated the halogens in my 2020 boss. I replaced the bulbs with these and it is a huge improvement. Easy swap, takes about 15 minutes.

So far, what little night driving that I have done, theses are not too bad. My next step is to take it to the detailer and get the “dealer installed” scratches and swirls removed. I have purchased seven or eight new vehicles. I always try to look over them the best that I can, but it seems that unless you can get to it before the dealer “prep” team can, you had might as well expect some blemishes. Sad, but true.

I got the same LED lights in my 2021 TBC and they have worked great for a over a year now. This was absolutely the first thing I changed day 2 of owning the truck.

I do get flashed every once and while from on coming drivers thinking I have my high beams on.... Little do they know those are the same and would be much worse if I actually did have those on.

Well, unfortunately my excitement has turned to dread fairly quickly. I took my truck to have it detailed and while the shop owner and I were looking over the truck, we noticed some scratches on the bumper. A couple all the way to the metal. Most certainly done by the “prep” team. This is on a brand new truck with less than three hundred miles that the only driving that has been done is from the dealership to home, and the detail shop to home. I contacted the dealership (which is around 1 1/2 hours away) and they told me to bring it tomorrow and see what they can do. Not really as mad, as I am disappointed. Hoping for the best, but expecting the worse. My question is, if they agreed to do a repaint, would you let them do it, or live with the few scratches and keep the factory finish? Thanks in advance.

Deep scratches into the primer and /or down to bare metal? Or just clear coat scratches that may buff out?

Metal. Unfortunately. Or I am assuming. The color of the scratch looks silver. The worst one is around a half inch and looks more like a scrape. Feels rough when I run a fingernail over it.

Tough call. Be easier if the dealer was 5 miles away.
Yeah. I know. I looked at one within twenty-five minutes of me, but this one is the color that I wanted and they were giving bigger rebates. Oh well. I know that a vehicle cannot stay perfect forever, but I at least like to put the scratches on myself.

Okay, I got an idea. How about get the dealer to pay for the bumper to be wrapped in PPF as restitution?

Yeah. I do not really know what route I want to go now. Sort of makes me sick to my stomach. I traded in a flawless vehicle for one that already has damage from the dealership. I guess I will go back tomorrow and see how they handle it.

Wonder what they did to cause it?
I smashed into a piece of metal kicked up by another vehicle on the freeway. It put a 2in scratch on the front bumper and slightly dented it. I touched it up with a paint pen and only see it if I look for it. My truck isn't brand new though😬.

The adaptive cruise control I can really live with or without. My biggest concern was the halogen headlights. I was wondering if they are adequate, or do they leave something to be desired. Thanks for the comments from everybody.
The halogen on my 21 wee terrible, but as some already mentioned Lasfit are top shelf!
