Sure, lifters are an issue on some of them. I could think of dozens of worse issues though. Fundamentally speaking, you could just about change lifters in a parking lot with a set of hand tools.

i can show you similar topics for EVERY manufacturer. ENJOY the truck. If it breaks you have a warranty. I know it would suck, but it happens with every manufacturer.

For certain the Internet is scary, not the truck…21 TB 6.2 runs perfect only around 5000 miles but my daughter just towed a horse trailer 18 hours to Florida and it ran flawlessly.

FWIW, I did lie about the parking lot repair. Didn't realize at the time you have to pull the heads to pull the lifters on LS motors.

Traded in my 4runner...have I made a mistake? The truck looks great, though I am disappointed in the performance of the 5.3 and the overall stiff ride. What I am most concerned about, however, are the bent lifter horror stories I have now come across...and not one, but numerous.

Mine is a ten speed LT, so I bought the Pulsar but haven’t received it yet. I am hoping that turning off the DFM keeps me from owning a brand new broken truck.

2020 Trailboss 5.3 motor, 37,000 miles, no issues so far. Two warranty claims. Torn door weatherstrip seal, failed ABS sensor in the rear wheel. NO powertrain issues. Plan on purchasing the Pulsar module in the spring of 22. Traded in my 2016 TRD Tacoma on the Chevy

Was your issue with a torn weatherstrip seal located on the inner door jam seal ? I experienced a tear on the weatherstrip seal on the bottom right next to the plastic foot guard. This is on a 2022, 7 months old with just over 2,000 miles. I was shocked that it tore, and how thin the rubber was. Did Chevy repair yours under the warranty ?

You definitely made a mistake the new GM trucks arent worth the powder it takes to blow them to hell. You will suffer many problems with this truck. Most are very serious like the one you mentioned. Catastrophic engine and trans failures are listed all over the internet. Unfortunately you will recieve little if any help from the dealer you bought it from or GM because they knew the problems with these truck before they sold it to you. All they saw was another sucker and they lied to you to pump up there sales on defective vehicles. My trail boss is only two months old and spent half its life at the dealers trying to figure out what wrong with this P.O.S. My truck didnt even make it 1000 miles before it started having major misfire issues and throws no CEL it just fails only when you accelerate. so if you buy this truck because it looks good just remember that all this truck can do is look good. everywhere else it fails miserably. GM engineers should be taken out and horse whipped for their incompatence

Well - I don’t like to think I made a mistake, or consider myself a sucker. I suggest if you’re not satisfied with your TB you should trade it in. Try a Ford .

I love mine! Does it drive and handle like my friends 2006 Porsche Carrera GT at high speeds? No! However, I know his wouldn't handle like mine off road. Drive like you stole it! I took my TB in last week to have the front passenger speed sensor replaced. No charge!

2020 LT TB 62,000 miles and no major issues.. I do have the Pulsar and CAI on it.. I don’t go easy on it either.. 3 years of happiness with it so far..

Same here 2021 Custom TB - 38,000 miles zero issues. Just oil changes and all the filter changes (after the first year I've been doing it myself)

That being said I do have a model that came WITHOUT AFM/DFM

Edited to add - actually only issue was finding 2 dead mice in my engine air box when changing out the engine air filter

You might want to do something about the mice if you haven’t already. They can do significant damage to your wiring. From what I was told is that they are attracted to the newer type of wire used. They caused $1200 of damage to my 2009 Traverse.

I have a freind who’s Audi A6 was totaled because the wiring harness was wiped out!
