New tires

Yes they handle potholes better but since they are a heavier 10-ply tire they do feel stiffer at 40psi.
Thanks for the reply. To get any real ride improvement would you say replacing the shocks would be best bet? I was thinking the extra sidewall would help give a little more cushion, even tho they are 10 ply.
 
There’s a lot of variables and ride quality is subjective. Tire pressure makes a big difference, and so does having more tire/ less wheel. I’ve run anywhere from 30-40psi in these Falken Wildpeaks, and the ride is nice and soft on bumpy roads if you run it at 30psi. I’m currently running them at 40psi for less rolling resistance and it’s still comfortable. These factory Rancho shocks are quite soft already, so I’d recommend looking at your wheel/tire setup first. Just my two cents, hope it helps.
