Onstar benefits: Yay or Nay?

I canceled everything except XM. I keep XM for the hard Rock stations 😉.

The only thing is it won't read my Text messages now 😒😡😡😡😡. The cheapest car/truck on the market will do this without Data.
You don't use Apple Car Play or Android Auto? Both of those will read your text messages for you.

Love XM radio, never used Onstar so I never renewed it after the official first 3 months…

Occasionally I use Android auto. It just 😤😤 off that basic functionality isn't built into the system. Android Auto also displays my XM app song info and not the truck radio XM song info .

Yeah, I miss the GM built in "Assistant" too. Not sure if it was omitted because of the chip shortage or because phone apps have made it less necessary.

Greed is why it doesn't work. I pay for unlimited data on my phone plan and I shouldn't have to purchase data from GM. This subscription crap is going to get worse as new vehicle's are produced.

That's why GMC's are now REQUIRING 3 year Onstar subscriptions. I'm waiting for Chevy to do the same thing.

I think it $1,000 for 3 yrs and it’s on the window sticker. Most likely you’re spreading that over 5-6yrs so you’re actually paying more👎

Hello all,
My 2022 TB is 3 mos. old. As such, I'm set to lose Serius XM and Onstar, unless I subscribe and pay.
I can live w/out Serius XM.
But what features from Onstar 'interact' with the vehicle, if any? What can't I do without having Onstar?
Bottom line, is it worth it?
Thanks
I have Onstar & pay maybe 15 bucks for the unlimited data
