Running board recommendations

I got the cheaper factory ones but I think I’ll send them down the road for some tucked up ones. I’ve scraped these off road. 🥴

I currently have the OEM tubes but they stick out kinda far and hang low, so I ordered some of the factory high clearance steps based on lots of recommendations from other people here. I should have them in on Saturday cant wait!

Got the ONINE which were pretty inexpensive in comparison to factory. Hug pretty tight giving descent ground clearance.

Has anyone put the OE high clearance on a 2019 Trail Boss? All the sites say they are for '21 and up? I cant figure out why since I thought the 19,20 and 21's are the same.
Thanks

You open any door on either side and that side board extends and then retracts when you close the door.

I have been searching for steps that tuck away and only pop out when the door opens. the rest stay tucked away. I dont think they exist. I am contemplating on building them myself. I think a running board that pops out is just a tad bit to tacky for my taste. I want a small step to pop out only for the door that opens. Either rotates outward, slides out, or pops out.

I thought about buying the Amp brand and cutting the board shorter into smaller steps. then figure a way to reprogram to extend only for the door that opens. Sounds to be more a headache, if i go that route I will probably just leave them as they are due to the cost.

If anyone has spare power extenders or motors sitting around for my project. PM me pls.

I use my TB for long distant driving, towing, and soft sand majority of the time. I do take it in the snow from time to time but since its my most reliable vehicle for long distant, I baby it. I am using it as my daily driver till I get my tranny rebuilt on the 57. The 57 has a few tlc tasks that need done: paint, electrical, steering column, tranny, and rear end.

My fiancée and son have issues climbing into the truck. I don't have an issue. The steps would be for them.

Love the pic's!

My new 2024 Trail Boss came with the Sport Step, Part # 84742421 but I didn't like the way they reduced the ground clearance and I also found them a bit too wide. I just replaced them with the factory Off-Road Assist Steps ( high clearance) Part # 85654359. Not cheap, but hopefully selling the Sport Step will off set the pain... The off road ones are nice and solid, made from cast aluminum except for the brackets. They only use 3 brackets and not 4 that the Sport Step used. Truck looks better, ground clearance is improved, much cleaner look.

I put the RC RPT2 running board and love the low profile look. Better quality than I expected. No issues so far.
