The Sand Dune Metallic Trail Boss thread

Well. We were lucky to get the greatest color palate ever produced !. Everyone that sees it "Loves the color".

After seeing the color I'm still not a fan of it. I live outside of Grand Rapids Michigan and there's a GMC dealer with an Elevation in this color and another small town a few miles away has a ZR2 in this color as of a few days ago.

I have seen people removing Z71 (etc.) badging and OEM stickers using a heat gun then using fishing line to remove.

Does anyone know what line weight they (you) use on this. I would think 4lb would be to light or 12lbs to heavy. Thanks for any reply.

I had to use braided line. Monofilament just broke. It was all a PIA. If I was going to do it again I would also try the 3M wheel that goes on a drill. It is made to remove the left over adhesive.

Thanks TOG. I will try the braided.

Bedside trailboss sticker peeled right off for me. Used the fishing line method for the Z71 badge, came off pretty easy without a lot of effort. Removing the 3M and residue was the hard part. A lot of elbow grease, time and bug ‘n tar remover seemed to help. Definitely would invest in 3M wheel for the drill like PHXPHOTOG mentioned if I had to do it again

Only 1900 miles on my TB. 5.3.

Have not notified the dealer yet about when opening any door after not being driven for a while I hear what sounds like the the fuel pump engaging.

A whirling sound for a few seconds. From under the bed where the gas tank is.

Has anyone noticed this ?. GM owner for life (75yrs old) and never heard this whine from any of the GM vehicles I have owned.

Yes, mine does the same. Will also be multiple clicks and clunks and noises from inside the cab after shutting the vehicle down if you stay inside it long enough.

Edit: I do believe all these sounds are normal. Fuel system prime at the time of vehicle unlock and shutdown procedures after vehicle shutdown. Fans, vacuum seals, electronic protections ect.
