What's new

The Sand Dune Metallic Trail Boss thread

Yes, mine does the same. Will also be multiple clicks and clunks and noises from inside the cab after shutting the vehicle down if you stay inside it long enough.

Edit: I do believe all these sounds are normal. Fuel system prime at the time of vehicle unlock and shutdown procedures after vehicle shutdown. Fans, vacuum seals, electronic protections ect.
Thanks Pistols. Glad to hear. I had a '15 Silverado 2500 HD LTZ 6.0 that did not have those noises. Probably those new Taiwan chips made on Friday.

I had the same ‘15 HD and it didn’t either. My ‘20 HD had the fuel system prime noise but I don’t recall the interior shutdown noises. This ‘22 Trailboss has had both since I got it.

Nice ATX. I have a stubby one. Good reception also. Beats the factory whip. Those long ones tore up my garage door top seal on my other truck.

I have seen people removing Z71 (etc.) badging and OEM stickers using a heat gun then using fishing line to remove.

Does anyone know what line weight they (you) use on this. I would think 4lb would be to light or 12lbs to heavy. Thanks for any reply.
Didnt have any fishing line when i did mine. Used a blow dryer to get the badge hot. Pried it up with a trim removal tool. Used the same trim removal tool to get the large chunks of adhesive balled up. used goo gone and paper towels to get the rest of the adhesive and cleaned it up with isopropyl alcohol before reapplying the blacked out badges I got off amazon. The back stickers was just a blow dryer and a fingernail to start peeling. no adhesive left, cleaned it with isopropyl anyways.

Only 1900 miles on my TB. 5.3.

Have not notified the dealer yet about when opening any door after not being driven for a while I hear what sounds like the the fuel pump engaging.

A whirling sound for a few seconds. From under the bed where the gas tank is.

Has anyone noticed this ?. GM owner for life (75yrs old) and never heard this whine from any of the GM vehicles I have owned.
Yes, this is normal. Fuel pump priming. I had this noise in both my '21 AT4 and my '22 TB, both with 5.3L. The pops and clicks after shutting off was explained to me by a GM tech, he said since there is no true manual locking for the shifter (even in the column shifter, its all electronic no matter how good it feels) the sounds are from the parking brakes being auto applied a minute or two after turning it off. Not sure how true that is.

I put Rhino's RB20 running boards on. Have had them for a couple of months. Love them. Welcome to the Forum. Keep us posted.

Tow hooks look great! Can you elaberate on how you sealed the baffles?

You mean the opening where they enter the bumper? Those were stock rubber mounts with slits in them. When I removed the tow hooks for color matching, I just moved them a little to the side. They had a little trim piece to attach the baffle to the frame so it wouldnt fall off. Once I got the hooks back, I just pushed them back through the slits and worked them into position before tightening the bolts on the hooks.
