What's new

What did you do to your Trailboss today? 🛠️

Received these today. Generic mud flap delete kit from Amazon. For 26 bucks, I will give them a shot. Also removed the mud flap bracket to make sure I don’t have any issues with the new tires being installed next week (295/70/18).
These work as good as the rough country ones my friend.

I finally did my exhaust tips over the weekend - I think they look great compared to the chrome looking ones - but will DEFINITELY SAY - when the YouTubers tell you that the inside bolts are a pain in the butt - they ain’t kidding - a swivel socket or a wratcheting box end wrench is a MUST. I highly advise taking the insets off from the bumper steps to reach the bolts - otherwise it will be virtually impossible. There are plenty of YouTube videos on this. I also attached a pic of the box these came in for reference - got them off Amazon as opposed to the $250 option you can find elsewhere - made in china I know but these are just really bezels anyway - probably will go away when I do a cat back - just sayin….

One more thing on the tips - these ones are gloss black as opposed to flat black which are also available on Amazon - do your own thing but the paint quality on the flat black ones kinds sux IMO and the gloss black matches the bumper.

I just painted mine with some heat paint, they turned out great.
I think that is the most inexpensive way to go not to mention we know the fitment is perfect
Thanks for the tip

I'm on my 3rd set and they are beat up too. I keep smashing them on rocks. I think I still have scars on the back of my hand from the first set I took off without the proper wrench. You need a 10mm ratcheting, swivel end wrench to do it properly. As you said it is worth buying the wrench if you don't have one.

most would never go this route, but when removing my HDMI port exhaust tips, remove the easy and bend them down., the uppers are super easy then. reinstall the same. bend the tab, install screw and push back into place.

Your right, I would never consider this method and do not recommend it. The metal of the exhaust tips is quite stiff and not easily manipulated. As mentioned I have bent tips up on rocks several times. I have tried to straiten them out and it is difficult at best and does not work for me. Once the tabs you suggest bending are bent I find it almost impossible to ever get the tips in place properly again.

looks like he did, expand the pic... you can see tread up close to the body lines.

I thought so, but the further I get in my fifties the less I trust my eyesight.

Not exactly today ... but I had a new set of GY Wrangler Territory MT's mounted and all. With more than 45,500 miles, the original tires were riding harsh and making lots of noise. It is so quiet and smooth now. These tires don't have the Severe Snow rating, but IMHO they should have it. Everyone involved has been very impressed at how well the big Chevy pickup does during Offroad Vehicle Recoveries, especially the ones in snow.

Because they have done so well, and my full set of Tire Chains fit so tightly, I decided on the OE 32.5" Territory's instead of other tires I had been considering. Also, these are much more affordable right now than the alternatives.

And last month I had a new Windshield installed. We had really high winds in the Spring, and blowing sand ruined my windshield.

With new tires and a new windshield, it's like having the brand new truck again. :)

45K miles on the original tires is awesome(y).
