What did you do to your Trailboss today? 🛠️

i agree, i like the throw back to heritage....i have considered some myself.

the point i think most hate on is this...LOCATION, and QUANTITY. Make the truck what you want, if that is a a K10...go, but lets possibly remove the other umpteen hundred badges and clean it up. like i said, location is key also. take a peak at where GM put them, that helps carry the retro theme to the current model

I know I’m likely to get flamed for this, but I miss those wheels.

Great looking trucks.

Search your local Craigslist or Facebook marketplace for Chevy/GMC 17” steel wheels. Probably get some cheap and powder coat them white. Throw them on the Boss and you’re done. 👍🏻 😬

A lot of hate on other social media’s, but I really like these K10 emblems on my TB. My grandpa had an old K10 and he was a diehard Chevy truck thru and thru. I like this nod to him and Chevy trucks in general!
Are you running spacers?

Just installed these red exhaust tips today. I know they look orange but they are chevy red. I'm on the fence as to whether I like them or not.....do you think they are just tooooo red and stand out too much? Brutally honest opinions appreciated.

Too much. the red can be carried....but usually gets carried to far away....

i want these....but that offset, is a no go.
You ain’t kidding about the offset. You’d need about 2” of offset to get them to clear the brake and uca.

There’s a lot of fads and such that simply don’t age well. Things like slotted wheels, chain latch step side pickups, mini skirts, and Red 1969-70 Chevelle’s that will never be out of style for me.

Looks pretty good to me. I’d run ‘em!

Heading to Moab Ut. next week. Today I'm gearing up and doing equipment checks. Fourth multi day overland trip, will start in Moab again and see where we want to go from there. So far this rig has 4wheeled much of AZ, Utah, and done almost all of the Alpine Loop in CO. It is a 2021 TB LT, 32,000 miles, 3,000 of them off pavement. On these overland trips I go out of my way to stay off highways and keep it on dirt as much as possible. Getting it geared up today I realized how much it has evolved in 3.5 years as an off road rig. Some of it has been detailed on this forum.
Here is where it is at:
34" BFG KM3
Front end level
Mud flap delete
Custom fabricated rear differential skid plate
Go Rhino Dominator D6 Rock Sliders (second set)
RC 30,000 Lumen light bar and Ditch Lights
Console vault
Receiver hitch skid plate
Lasfit reverse lights
Back seat storage full of tools, recovery gear, and tire repair kits
After three years of desert pinstriping I did a paint correction to repair as much damage as I could. Bad paint is just a price for all the fun
Customized bed to hold tools and gear that lives there
Just one advantage of 4wheeling a full sized rig is being able to take everything I like to have with me. I don't hesitate to load it up. I carry:
Survival gear and lots of water
5 gallon gas Jerry Can
Trauma kits
Hi-Lift with winch kit
Traction boards, 30 foot dynamic rope, 30 foot static strap, hard and soft shackles and a bunch of other stuff
That's how I roll anytime I am 4wheeling. When I go overlanding add camping gear to that. I love my Trail Boss!

My mods are not pretty but it all gets put to work.

I started building this survival bag in 2017. In 2018 it came in handy when I spent an unplanned night in the desert. It was not a survival situation because I go prepared. It was just another comfortable night alone in the desert while I waited for a buddy to rescue me the next day. Once a year I dump it out and refresh it like I did today.

So today was first day of gear and truck getting ready. I head for Moab on the 17th. Some of you guys have been really kind about my trip reports. I will write one up when I get back.

Steve

Not today but last weekend I installed the rugged fender flares now on the lookout for wheels and tires to poke a little.
