What did you do to your Trailboss today? 🛠️

Seriously, considered putting it up for sale, but will shop it at some dealers in the next few days (actually would feel guilty selling it to another final purchaser, but not as a trade in to a GM/RAM dealer). Not saying I will not get another Trail Boss, but I am saying the DEF system and all the idiotic messages of DEF being low and locking the info part of the IP has made me determined to dump this POS. AND NO....I am not towing a trailer when it appears most of the time and dealer appears to be lost in how to stop it. Therefore, it appears the ONLY way to STOP this problem is to dump the vehicle and move on.

Whether or not it will be another GM product is up for debate at this time. If not for the DEF system having been designed and/or programmed by a 2nd grade moron at GM, this would have been a great vehicle. However, GM has seen to not care about their customers and have let this well reported problem exist.

Before I purchased my TB, I did consider the diesel, but considering I never owned one in the past, I decided not to begin now, so I stuck with the gas-powered.

It's happening, this TB will be history in a few weeks. Just not sure which color to get in the new truck. Stuck between Lakeshore Blue Metallic or Sterling Gray Metallic; both 2026, 2500 Trail Boss models. Both in transit to dealers in Phoenix and both are 6.6L good old gasoline engines.
Not that the 3.0L diesel itself was bad it wasn't. It was the DEF system that was programmed by some moron for GM. Did find out, the programming comes out of a third tier supplier in CA; however, it is still GM's requirement to get the programming correctly for their vehicles and they are not doing their job.
When I took the TB to the GMC dealer that services my TB, I was told the biggest problem is all the sort trips I have done recently due to back problems...might be true; not sure. Regardless, it is failing to read a tank of fluid. And it will be gone, soon.

Ended up deciding to do some Undercoating today using Rusfre Rubberized Undercoating. Turned out pretty good. Also swapped out the stock tranny pan with a PPE, which has a drain plug.

I did wear a respirator and eye protection. The overspray was not too bad, maybe because it was a rubberized formula versus a fluid film or whatnot.

A few years back i was going to undercoat my 2014 Silverado, but never did because a body shop told me its not a good idea because if you have any gaps or situations where water can get behind it and just sit there it will eventually rot the metal without you ever seeing it, id say just make sure its sealed on all edges, corners, seams etc.
