What's new

What did you do to your Trailboss today? 🛠️

Bought mine...
I've been agonizing giving up my Jeep Gladiator for months, but I had to be an adult (at 51) and get myself a larger work truck that was capable off-road and also didn't break my bank accounts.

Honestly, I really wanted a TB, but I just couldn't fork over over $50k for a truck, so a CTB was it.
What I love initially:
- The ride is good
- interior simplicity
- Off-Road package
- CHEAPER than the same exact trucks that we used (1-2 yrs older) on the same lot!

Dislike:
- interior simplicity (yeah, I like it too!)
- makes my JTR feel like a Mercedes (for just $2k more, my JTR had tons more features wise)
- easy to drive

Can't wait to make her my own!

I get it. The 4wheeler in me wanted a gladiator. BUT....the Trail Boss is the perfect truck for all my needs, work truck, tow vehicle for my 30' RV, everyday driver, it does it all. So I'm not letting it's size stop me from driving it like it's a Gladiator. I am having as much fun off road with it as I ever had with my 3 Jeeps. These things can wheel.

Swapped out the chrome tailgate emblems for black...

Looks good! I like that look but my army issued OCD would make me black out the exhaust tips too haha!
I've had the truck 4 weeks and so far I've added:

  • Husky rear wheel well liners
  • Soft roll-up tonneau cover
  • Rear under seat storage
  • Black/red Z71 emblems on the fenders
  • Black tailgate emblems (today)
  • Next - Gloss black powder coating my exhaust tips
I think once the tips are done, I'm just gonna ride for a while.

;-)

I managed to bang up both of my chrome tips on a recent 4WD trip. They make lousy skids! So today I replaced the crushed chrome with powder coated red. Now I'm going to have to do something with the chrome letters. Not sure if they should go away or go black? I like Economan's new black ones.

Black tailgate emblems outlined with red are available too. Look on eBay

I ordered both sides of the 2nd versions after getting my 2019 in March. He is great, had me send a pic of my drivers seat base to be sure the correct version was sent. Simple, a bit spendy but worth it.
It was a simple install and now the wifey is not sitting in a hole.

If you have an air ratchet you will need it for the tips. I don't have one, it was a pain in the ass. Take the bumper steps off first, there is a YouTube video. Then for one of the bolts your hand will be working blind inside the bumper with less than an inch of throw for the wrench. Doable, but takes patients.

Sounds like an awful lot of effort to remove exhaust tips. I appreciate the suggestions. I might not get in a big hurry to do them lol

My truck is getting ceramic coated as we speak. So glad. Bugs will wipe right off now. Had it done on my 2019 Hellcat too.

How much is the coating and where/who is doing it for you?
It’s costing me $1200.00. It’s a five year protection. Company is Revived Detailing LLC. in King George VA.

Thank you.
Your welcome. It really does make cleaning the bugs off a lot easier. He is also taking out some swirls for me, it cost a little extra, but I don't mind. My truck is almost a year old.
