6.2 recall

So are we done with the doom & gloom over the recall? Been pretty quiet?

Not from my perspective

Talked to dealer again on Monday. GM still hasn't provided authorization for them to do the warranty work on my truck.

They have authorized a ECU update but still waiting on the engine recall. I guess they haven't gotten through their own vehicles yet.

40 year GM customer but mine will be departing as soon as I can.

I got an email from my dealer just last week said that I need to make an appointment for the recall. When I went on their website to pick a day to come in, they are 3 months out!

i inquired about trading my truck in, then asked about how the recall inspection would affect that trade value...i also commented about them selling trucks with 6.2's on the used lot....MAGIACLLY, i was contacted by the General Manager claiming they could and have been inspecting the entire time...so i went and asked why his service dept kept stating they could not....his service staff gave me some really nasty looks....my truck will not go to that dealer ever again !

I tried to make an appointment back in July but the dealer said they are at the mercy of GM and had no info on what to do yet for the recall even though all the info is out there about the test and oil change. I checked the app last night and it still says "no remedy available".

but yet again, it states they must hold and test any used vehicles under the recall...
i see them selling numerous vehicles a week...ask about trading, ask about the results of the evaluation....i bet they test it to try and make a sale.

Got my engine replaced a couple weeks ago. I was a little surprised to see that the new one still calls for 0W20.
That's been the statement from GM all along. New engines still use 0W20. Only the tested and passed engines get the 0W40
