Not sure why it’s so hard to understand.
Except for the fact that it is being blown completely out of proportion. How many at this site have had lifter failures? How many of the more than Five Million of these trucks sold have suffered it? Is it true that every single 5.3 and 6.2 will die before 100,000 miles?
If owners are that sceered they really should go back to a reliable Turd Taco.

Relax. Agreed. It’s ridiculous how many times this comes up. Clearly, people don’t research before they buy and evidently, are also afraid of their shadow.

There is no reliable truck anymore. Your choices are V8's with DoD or turbo 6's and 4's. So you either have broken lifters or turbo/cooling issues.

The only solution anymore is buy a factory backed extended warranty for as long as you plan to own your truck. Keep it the automaker's problem and not yours.

Engine / Powertrain warranty. 10 Year million mile. Hopefully I will never need it. I have been getting all my service maintenance done at my dealership. All documented thru dealership.

I looked at the manufacturer extended warranties last week. I can get a 100k/8-year for only $2k. In comparison to my ‘19 RAM Rebel 75k/5-year was $2,800. Will probably buy it within the next few weeks.

How many miles are on your truck and is that bumper-bumper or powertrain only?

16,000 miles on my 2022 LTD Trailboss now. Warranty covers Engine Transmission & Transfer case Drive axle. Google Kool Chevy.

Broken things suck... No doubt about it it. Especially when the break and subsequent failure is because of manufacturer defect. For our hard earned dollars we all want a truck that will never break, run flawlessly for 300,000 miles and get us anywhere we want to go without ever getting stuck. This is, of course, unrealistic.

Back in the dark ages, before LS engines, (as I'm sure many of you remember) we would tear into our small and big blocks with power hungry grins adding cams and lifters, aluminum intakes, headers, and giant carburetors. 4" lifts and 33" tires were HUGE! And if someone splurged for a roller cam....that was some amazing technology:ROFLMAO:... My '75 K10 got 6MPG down hill with a tail wind.

I'm still amazed that right out of the box my Trail Boss has 355 HP and gets 18MPG. My warranty has expired and I've got AFM, so 8 AFM lifters... 8 chances for an AFM lifter to fail... But if that happens I've already decided I'm not gonna cry about it! I'll use it as an opportunity dive in and make some modifications. The AFM delete kit; cam and lifters, push rods, head gaskets, VLOM plugs, and ECM retune can be done for less than $1,000 in parts. The labor is what's expensive. So I'll invite over my son, and some friends, and over a weekend with pizza and a couple of cold beers do what we used to do... Build something how the factory should have done it in the first place and make a whole lot of good memories in the process.

I love this truck. It's part of our family. I refuse to throw it out or speak poorly of it because of something that might happen. To each his own, but I'm all about being happy and making some good memories and keeping the heartbeat of America pumping.(insert bow tie here)

See y'all on the trail!

Platinum policy, currently have 2,500 miles

Ok you are within the "new truck" mileage so you will get a great price. That said, you might not need to spend the extra on the bumper-bumper. I mean the refresh trucks are a lot more complicated so maybe we'll find that it's necessary, but with the 19-21's really all you need to worry about is the lifters, so a powertrain only warranty is more than enough.
