What's new

What did you do to your Trailboss today? 🛠️

since the conception of this trucks vision in my eyes...a flare was always going to happen. Which one...Well that is tough, for me i wanted a factory appearing small flare that just adds to the body line character. I sourced numbers form the dealer for the ZR2 flare ( and may still go that route), but several items had long lead times or were showing back orders...
i pulled the trigger on the EGR brand, having used them in the past...i had good results. This time, SMHHH...overall fit is good, quality is OK, but the color and texture of there description was a little under expectation...
i did paint these with a TEXTURED TRIM paint, to match the factory textured trim pieces...

on the 23 or even the refresh, i am thinking the front bumper cover has changed one mounting point, which i made a bracket to fix the issue...but none the less, an update is needed.

these do remove the front FLAPPER as they call it, but it retains the front rear ???? that i dont understand, so some mods will need to happen there.

here are a few pics, and i have a few more...possibly for a later post

also the start of the under hood look...Catch can, intake tube (for now), painted coil covers...
this will all tie in nicely with the red whipple...

and a little history of the red engine pieces...my 89 OBS
most of my builds get this treatment

Got my truck back from the dealer. They had to fix the bumper, it was not level from the factory.

BEFORE then AFTER

i was really on the fence about doing these flares (EGR BRAND)...but a good pic always seals the deal.

Those are nice. Wonder if they will look ok with my stock wheels. Where did you get them?

Upgraded license plate lights to LED. Next up are reverse and then turn signal.

I haven't ordered the turn signal bulbs yet because of mixed responses with canbus errors.
My experience with the front turn signals was if you leave on for a few minutes then they get hot, that was while it was high 90s. Had drivers side blink fast and after a few minutes of not using works fine.

What do they do for the interior? I had my exterior ceramic coated, but haven't heard much about doing the interior.
igl coatings - Ceramic Coatings is what they used on mine. On the seats they used the ecocoat fabric and the plastic trim they used the ecocoat trim. Wheels were ecocoat wheel and windows ecocoat windows. Inside and out. They said that with my driving habits it is one year to up to five years durability. It took almost two weeks to get it back, however like I said amazing product and service. Bugs don't even stick to it.

Received and installed!
Also if you see in the picture above the hoses are the same length. Has anyone ever cut theirs to fit to the distance needed? Cause the hose going to the intake manifold is a bit long for the distance to the intake connection. I had to loop it one time just so it would be bulging up looking untidy under the hood.
I have no problems cutting to fit, just wondering if anyone has had to do modifications on their hoses.

I used Plasti-dip. Came out great. I used this on my old truck and it lasted for years. That way you don’t have to scar up the chrome at all. I put about 7-10 layers and it is very heat resistant.
I just Plasti Dip’d my Bow tie tonight. First time using it and very impressed with the product but hoping it’s lasts for awhile. I have the midnight package so the chrome here was driving me crazy.

The front and rear bowties are the only thing left I haven't blacked out, ive done everything including the lug nuts and I recently tinted the turn signal "C" shaped lights under the headlights. Did you do the rear bowtie also and did you remove them to plastidip ?
