What's new

What did you do to your Trailboss today? 🛠️

The front and rear bowties are the only thing left I haven't blacked out, ive done everything including the lug nuts and I recently tinted the turn signal "C" shaped lights under the headlights. Did you do the rear bowtie also and did you remove them to plastidip ?
I know I don't have a rear bowtie, just the words Chevrolet across the tailgate that was already blacked out from the factory. Mine is a LT TB 2023

Today I am again washing, drying, strip-washing, polishing and might even get to the surface prep and ceramic stuff.
Chemical Guys, Adam's and Shine Armor products.

edit: And the Clay MITT! Wow, this works great. The Adam's Clay Mitt is so easy to use!

I'm not sure how well the various "spray-on ceramic" products hold up, over time, but we might want to clay mitt regularly. I'm using some Spray Detailer that I already had (Mothers) so I didn't order Chemical Guys, nor Adam's, Clay Lube spray. Instructions for clay bars or mitts explained that just about any spray detailer will work.

And broke out the electric polisher. Got all the grit with the clay mitt, now it says to polish out swirls before surface prep and then the "graphene ceramic"*.
But that won't be today. Got enough done today. (Bottled/corked a batch of Watermelon-Berry wine, 30 - 750ml bottles.) :)

(* - "graphene ceramic" ... Right. I'm skeptical that these products actually have what they say ... but maybe that's because I haven't researched it.)

edit2: Guess I can start here:

Only trucks with the Multi Flex tailgate have a bowtie on the tailgate, otherwise they have the stamped CHEVROLET in the tailgate.

I did not remove the bowtie. I watched a couple videos that said to plastic off the vehicle but leave some other area. When you pull and peel the Plasti Dip it will tear where it needs to. I also did the center caps. Just need to order some black lug nuts. I have the midnight edition so all of the other badging was already black.

Is the catch can noisy? Like air escaping sound.
I installed mine in June this year and had no problems.

opened my hood today and heard a vacuum leak. It was coming from the catch can hose to the intake. I emailed them and got a replacement on the way. Hopefully, no problems after that.

My experience with the front turn signals was if you leave on for a few minutes then they get hot, that was while it was high 90s. Had drivers side blink fast and after a few minutes of not using works fine.
I have the Lasfit led's. They still shut off after sitting and waiting a while to turn. it's usually a good few minutes though before it happens. usually when I'm waiting for the train.

Managed to finish the washing/polishing/ceramic process, with help from my wife.

So I have washed with a foam gun and washing mitt;
Removed grit with a Clay Mitt and Clay Luber;
Washed that off with Adam's Strip Wash in a different foam gun;
Polished with an electric polisher and Turtle Ice synthetic polish (low viscosity, no white residue)
Toweled-on the Adam's Surface Prep;
Toweled-on the Graphene-Ceramic coating and buffed it out;
And finally put the car Cover on it to keep the ceramic out of the elements while it cures.

My wife ran the electric polisher. I used the clay mitt on the glass, and we applied the ceramic to the windshield and windows, as well.
It just looks tremendous and is super slick.

We did this sort of stuff to our airplane one year, and actually got significantly better fuel economy.

so after watching this video I definitely want the starlight on my headliner. has anybody else tried to do this? it's freaking awesome.

this is the title of the video if it doesn't work.

What brand of catch can did you have? I haven’t heard anything from mine. So far so good. I also heard that your supposed to add a little oil to it to prevent the sound. Within the lines.

That sounds like a lot of work. I will continue to pay to have it done. I opened the hood yesterday and the whole engine compartment was done as well. Expensive but worth it.

Tuesday I had the Ready Lift 1.75" Leveling Kit installed. Today I had Mickey Thompson Baja Boss AT 295/70R18 tires mounted on my stock wheels. Plus 2" wheel spacers.
That looks awesome! I want to do the ready lift leveling kit on my 21 tb, but am hesitant because of the 4wd auto vibration issues. Have you had problems with it? Also…once the crappy Goodyear wranglers that came factory have worn out, I’m going to get larger aftermarket tires for my factory wheels like yourself. I don’t want to completely change the factory trail boss effects, just enhance them, and I think your truck is a great example of that. On mine so far I’ve done the front window tint, aftermarket projector headlamps with led trim, 2” wheel spacers, and k & n cold air intake. The intake definitely gives it a nice growl when you put the pedal down. I would eventually like to do something with the exhaust as well; nothing too crazy but just a little sound would be nice…since you get absolutely nothing from the factory

Rear brakes toast at 31k miles. Neat. Upgraded to drilled and slotted rotors with powerstop extreme tow and off-road pads.

OMG! My last truck a 2016 RAM 1500 still had pad on them @ almost 100K miles before I traded in for my current truck. I hope that's from avoiding deer crossing your path.
