Hood scoop / paint damage

My selling dealership is fixing mine, spending a week with it, and giving me a rental. They claim that no one has come back again after these repairs, but time will tell. Quickly getting it xpel wrapped shortly after to help prevent more damage.
Can you tell us what they are doing to fix it & make sure it doesn't happen again?

Once I figure out that wildly strong claim happy to share. :) Though I do plan the minute its painted, the hood and front will be xpel'd and the scoop vinyl wrapped.

Dealership didnt give me any hints at what it is, still claim it wont be an issue again. Though he also noted he never received the notification in this thread, at first had no idea what I was talking about when I stopped by, and then now claims it wont be an issue moving forward. Has me a bit concerned that chips will be coming again. Unless they put something between the painted parts.

Just an fyi.
I removed my scoop to get it wrapped in satin-black (to eliminate glare). A quality wrap shop told me it wouldn't work well, owing to the fake 'louvers' cast into the 'scoop'. Ended up having it painted satin, and very happy with results...

Interesting, yeah they would either have to be cut around or just a crunchy process around those pieces. My shop didn't say too much about the idea of wrapping it. Xpel's kit does come specifically with a cut piece for our scoop. I would be curious about how that piece is cut out. Might need to have deeper conversations with them. Since I would also want to debadge the z71 as well and not have the cut out piece on the fender as well.

I have thought about hydro dipping, but I guess that pretty much matches up with just getting it painted anyway.

Had the Xpel kit installed in April. Had to wait a week for them to come out with it. It doesn't match up as good as I thought it would.

Here I am thinking itd be a sure-shot thing. Any pics of the line up?

Not great pics, but the edges really stand out

Damn yeah they do! Well good news for me, kind of, got laid off this week. So mayyybe it’ll get better over time or research some better options.

Not seeing many new members indicating this issue as of late for the ‘23 trucks. Wondering if they made corrections or adjustments during assembly which may have reduced this being an issue or if people just aren’t posting about it as much.

waiting on the final detailing of some compound on the truck. They stripped to metal most of the hood, repainted, cleared it all. And then cleared the bottom of the scoop. So not fully what I was expecting but fingers crossed the, it never comes back claim, from my selling dealership stays true. This is the second TB this body shop in Everett, WA have done.

Hope that works out well.
As you can see from my photos above of my scoop removed, the factory did a piss-poor job of applying a seal/buffers. I'm not sure that, until this is addressed, the scraping will not return...

I am in the same boat. I actually expect it to happen again. Which isnt a great feeling.
