Hood scoop / paint damage

Just got word a bulletin was issued yesterday. Waiting on a call back with details.

Also, would recommend submitting the survey from GM that you should get in email after purchase. Someone from GM has been calling to follow up and help with getting my hood fixed. And other items I noted in the survey.

Do you have specifics on bulletin? A PIT number? My TB goes next Tuesday for repair and want to make sure dealer has most recent repair. Thanks!

Nothing yet. Did get a call back from GM checking though. They’re reaching out to the dealer and looking for bulletin info.

Repair done. Body shop used their own 3M double sided tape. Despite the dealer and I looking GMs fix up together and verifying materials needed, they still didn't order what needed to be ordered. Anyway, the off site body shop across the street is a good one. Their paint guy is awesome. Hood looks great. Space between scoop and hood look great. So far so good.

Mine repaired today. Hoping it does the trick.

Hood problem bulletin is PIT5930A. When they're fixing your hood they can also fix the trailer brake controller switch issue that's a recall. AND also have them repair the daytime running lamp issue while it's there.. too.

5930a is old news! Was hoping for an updated fix beyond tape from Amazon. Do those two other issues apply to a 2022 refresh TB? Thank you!

That’s what I have, and they both applied. But the brake may be specific to an accessory package.

Also, 2 weeks or so after purchase I had the expel front end and rocker kit installed and ceramic coated. Curious to see how this conversation goes.

I will ask dealer-many thanks for the heads up!

The daytime running lamp issue as well as the trailer brake controller switch issue I received letters from GM to contact the dealer which I did. Reference the Amazon tape fix, no updates since then.

Hood repair done. Time will tell but looks good so far. Recall for the brake control switch done. Only 3 recalls in less than a year, waiting for the next one.

Hood "repair" was a no go. Ita doing it again on the drivers side corner near the windshield. I may just go aftermarket hood vs dealing with it

So sorry. Chevy needs to find a fix or I see another class action suit against them. Too widespread an issue to ignore.

Been silent on this thread a bit after going through a layoff at work plus some other wild things. So apologies all!

My hood was repaired and everything was looking good. A week ago, noticed it all chipping again. The last paint job is obviously a thicker coat so it is chipping in a different way than that rub mark we have all come to love. But going to reach out to my dealership again to see what our options are.
So the hood has officially chipped twice within a couple of months. Pics coming up if your dealership promises just a new paint job would fix it.

Edit: Pics as promised, also doing a closer look it looks like they installed the scoop closer to the windshield? Doesnt look like it is as close to the hood as before. Don't mind the pollen.
