What's new

What did you do to your Trailboss today? 🛠️

The warranty is 7 years BUT that involves resealing it annually by a detailer. I had a lower grade ceramic put on my RAM which lasted 5 years. I did the sealant once a year, which is just a spray, wipe and buff process. I'm also able to garage my truck, which is really what allows it to last a long time. It's expensive but it's worth it IMO especially on a black vehicle.

Can I ask what it cost ya ?? Been considering it
There's a big range on costs. Anywhere from $1,000 - $2,400. However, with ceramic coating it has to be applied just right or any blemishes will show. Not sure about other products but the one I got requires the vehicle be under a UV light to harden the coating. Because of that I went with a very reputable detailer who has a big shop that is properly equipped. It ran $2,200 which is a lot but I also knew it was going to be done right so I was ok with the expense. It's really about how comfortable you feel with the detailer you're talking to.

Here are my updated pictures with lights. A little cleaner.

Only way to do it! Super clean and easy! Drilled a small hole through firewall for cable and sealed and undercoated hole. They make them in smaller models than the eight. Got it on amazon.

Looks great! Can you show us where the switches are mounted inside?

I have not mounted in side the cab permanently yet. Plan on that tomorrow. It comes withe different mounts. Plan on mounting it underneath the 'Start' switch. Looks like it will fit. Guessing I will end up designing and 3D printing the mount and look I want.

I’m wanting to get a switch panel installed in the headliner… just haven’t seen this done in our trucks yet.

Nothing wrong with being the first

I would consider putting the switch panel in the head liner however I know there is not enough cabling out of the box. They do offer a 47" extension cable though. Easy enough to do however the cable could be tough to conceal getting it up there. Just my opinion. Auxbeam is the way to go though. Super clean and one harness versus all the separate wiring all over. The biggest challenge is mounting the additinal relay fuse box near the battery. Can be done though.

There's plenty of room behind the A pillar trim and at the front edge of the headliner to run the cable. I'm not sure where you're looking to mount it at in the headliner. I did see someone who had cut in a sunglasses holder at the back edge of where the stock roof console is and there was plenty of space behind for it to open and close.

Just added the Chevy high clearance steps and all-weather floor liners. Steps took 30 minutes, if you are doing it solo without jacks, I would recommend just loosely starting the top bolts, the top hole of the bracket was notched and could slide on. Liners aren't quite as well fitting as I hoped, but still seem solid.

Today I thought about trading my 2020 Silverado Trail Boss LT for a Canyon or Colorado. This thought is a daoly occurrence. Probably would've gone with a GMC. Don't get me wrong. I love my truck, and I like this forum I just don't see a need for the big size anymore. Only 2 things are stopping me from doing this (in no particular order): 1) I don't want to deal with my wife when it comes to finances. It's not worth the hassle. 2) I don't want to spend the time pulling my radios out of the truck.
