Hey I just messaged you back, sorry for the delay! The hood will need some very minor adjustments to create a good seal with no vibrations. A couple of washers on the driver's side bolts will make it so everything lines up nicely. The hood latch needed to come up and towards the driver's side just a little bit as well. As far as the ram air effect goes, you just need to have a cold air intake with an air box that opens to the top. They recommend K&N simply because the opening on the underside of the hood is shaped for K&N's air box shapes. I happened to already have a K&N intake installed prior to purchasing the hood. K&N's weatherstripping on the top of their air boxes are designed to seal against the hood and all around the opening. Otherwise, the air will blow just wherever in your engine compartment lol, subtracting from the ram air effect. But this hood will improve your engine's airflow even if you go with another intake brand, so long as the top of that air box is open.
