What's new

What did you do to your Trailboss today? 🛠️

Did you do it yourself? I heard its a pain in the ass trying to get them off.
I heard you need an electric ratchet to get them off. I've been wanting to black mine out also its pretty much the only thing chrome left on the truck.

Hey I just messaged you back, sorry for the delay! The hood will need some very minor adjustments to create a good seal with no vibrations. A couple of washers on the driver's side bolts will make it so everything lines up nicely. The hood latch needed to come up and towards the driver's side just a little bit as well. As far as the ram air effect goes, you just need to have a cold air intake with an air box that opens to the top. They recommend K&N simply because the opening on the underside of the hood is shaped for K&N's air box shapes. I happened to already have a K&N intake installed prior to purchasing the hood. K&N's weatherstripping on the top of their air boxes are designed to seal against the hood and all around the opening. Otherwise, the air will blow just wherever in your engine compartment lol, subtracting from the ram air effect. But this hood will improve your engine's airflow even if you go with another intake brand, so long as the top of that air box is open.
been looking into the ram air hood. Gotta call dealer tomorrow to try to get paint code. Can’t find anywhere in the truck. Lol. How much did it run you delivered and all? I have the S&B CAI hopefully will work with new hood

Yes I had to do the same, the paint code wasn't located in any of the normal locations lol. I believe it was $1700, painted and shipped. I think as long as the top opens on that air box, then you should be fine. Otherwise you will be missing out on the ram air affect, as the air dumps straight down from the hood over the air box.

Installed amber lights in the grille

After 21,000 miles, I had enough of the loud Goodyear Duratrac tires. I had the Mickey Thompson Baja Boss A/T’s installed. What a huge improvement. They are quiet, aggressive, and have a nice ride. Highly recommend them. Paid $1295.00 for them.

Do you know what the defect mileage warranty is on those? I thought about veering from the Duratrac's as well when the time comes. I thought about checking into whatever they are putting on the new ZR2's and Bison editions.

I've been eyeballing these tires as well. In 35" though. They look meaty.

I got the 1st oil change done, since it was free. I was eyeball humping its replacement. 2023 zr2. Badazz machine, only problem was the 71k on the window.

They really ought to offer a more stripped out version of the ZR2 for less money. Those e-lockers would be nice, but not for that price jump. Or a fancier Trail Boss trim?

What does everyone do with their unused Goodyear Duratacs? I laugh every time I hear about the noise. I love these things off road. No issues at all off road. I'd go anywhere with them. Would I buy them again? Wouldn't discount them as an option i know that. I don't mind the road noise as it is a truck designed for off road. Not a daily driver to put highway miles on. Again, I laugh as to why it is such a big deal. LOL

I actually don't mind the road noise. I was just hoping for something with just as good of off-road capabilities, but with better tread wear. If there is such a thing lol.
