What did you do to your Trailboss today? 🛠️

Oil change and tire rotation by the dealer. Over $77 worth....... i wont be going back for that again. I know i can do it for a lot less myself.
77 for oil and the rotation?

$77 is about how much it costs for me to buy the oil and filter to do it myself.

When I first got this truck and I started reading reports about GM canceling factory warranties for various ridiculous reasons my first thought was "They wouldn't do that, would they?" Oh yes they will! I am not going to get into a bunch of long stories here but just 20,000 miles into ownership I have gone head to head with GM several times on warranty issues. One dealer threatened to revoke my entire vehicle warranty because of off road damage. I did the damage and paid them for repair OUT OF POCKET! I don't expect them to pay for off road damage but cancel my warranty for the whole truck, are you kidding me! Apparently fluids are another hot issue when it comes to warranty. For 77 bucks my truck goes to the dealership. I hate being bent over the barrel and held hostage by them but it's true. And their dealer service data base is networked nation wide. Every dealer sees every note every dealer puts into you record. I asked for a complete written copy of my service record and NOTES. I got a run around and never got a copy.

Why would GM fight to not honor warranties? All the big auto manufacturers are doing it. I'm not saying it is a conspiracy but call it what you want, the real term for it is "industry trend". If they all do it follow the money they can save.....just sayin.....

This is why I stopped buying extra warranty… customer service is a rare find these days.

I am very careful about any negative comments I post on the net. I don't complain or bash things unnecessarily. I can say in some cases getting a warranty repair is like filing an insurance claim with an insurance company you poured money into for years. The first thing they do is look for a way not to pay your claim.

When it comes to the truck Chevy advertises as "It is a Trail Boss, who needs a road?" the first thing service managers ask me is "Do you off road it?" That is the first thing they look for to get out of warranty repair. Unfortunately for me when they put my truck on a rack they laugh at me. There is no way I can claim it is a grocery getter. In fairness it varies from one dealer to the next. One dealer fights with me. Another one did a repair I wasn't expecting them to cover. It is crazy but it is real.

And I did buy the full extended warranty. Who knows what I will run into when it kicks into third party coverage.

This is the main reason I have them do all service for me. Outside of upgrading the truck, the stealership is the only one that touches it. That way if they break it. They buy it.

First oil change today…

And LASFIT front turn signals, license plate lights, and reverse lights. World of difference, can’t recommend enough, especially the reverse lights.

Also scraped the CarMax sticker off.

The Bilstein 6112s I've been waiting for came in this week and I put them on the truck today. Gotta say, this is the way to go. I had a Readylift 1.75" kit on it and was only using the top spacer, not the one under the shock, and my truck was perfectly level. Removed the spacers and now with the Bilsteins set on the tallest notch the truck is at exactly the same height and still perfectly level. So now I can use the factory top mounting nuts with full engagement instead of those tiny nuts that come with the Resdylift kit. Also, now there's no more excessive droop when jacking up the front of the truck.
The ride is much improved. Much more stable around turns and no more bouncy feeling over sharp bumps, and not any more harsh than the factory ride. So for anyone looking to level their Trailboss I highly recommend these coil overs. Great fit, better springs, better shocks, and a leveling kit with no wonky spacers all in one package. However, you'll still need to replace the upper control arms for safety.
Nice, I just went with the 5100’s with my readylift sst 2 inch leveling kit … I’ve enjoyed the upgrade it’s been a much improved ride ,.. feels so much more grounded and bouncy feel is gone , rebounds immediately .

I really like that bumper. What are you going to do with the center slot?

Installed the boost auto wireless charger center console tray.

Super easy and 100% recommend. Looks factory and perfect match to the wireless CarPlay in the 2021

I’m looking at 20in light bars for it…the brackets that came from Fab Fours are made specifically for Rigid brand lights… $$$💸
