What did you do to your Trailboss today? 🛠️

Backflip MX4 cover. Install was pretty straight forward. While I like the look am not the happiest with the quality control. There were aluminum shavings one everything. The last panel has a long scratch across it and the fron bumpers by the castle nut were not adhered and fell off.

I do have a question for others who have the MX4. I had large bumper 3x1.5 I could mount against cab or the smaller 1/2x10 strips. I put the smaller foam. Did any mount the larger foam pieces? Do they protect the cab better?

I was thinking of having my local Line-X guy black out my chrome tips on the exhaust..I asked him about it and believe it or not he had no experience with that sort of mod..Surely I am not the only one who had this idea...? Anyone black out their exhaust tips.?? If so how..?
Remove them and spray them with high heat paint. They can be found in flat, matt, glossy finishes. Many have used basic high heat grill paint but Rustoleum now makes high heat auto paints as well.

They don’t really get very hot since they aren't connected to the exhaust.

Yes to catch can! Everyone should look into what it does.
I have read that some dealerships will not work on trucks with this installed and it could mess with emissions during inspection. Also might void warranty. If you want to install wait til your warranty expires or take to someone that will work on it.

I sprayed mine with hyperdip while it was on the truck. Super easy. Can always peel it off later if you dont like it or have issues.

That's BS. Might be time to go to a different stealership. They have to prove any failure of a part was caused by the modification that you do. Don't fall for that. As far as paint goes, use high temp grill paint. Less than $10.

I never believed for a minute the things I read about GM canceling warranties. But it is true. My truck "went under review" by GM to cancel my warranty for off road damage I caused and paid for out of pocket. It wasn't even a warranty repair! In the end they did not cancel it but it blew my mind. Thay are looking for reasons not to honor warranty repairs. In my case the truck they advertise as "with a Trail Boss, who needs a road?" They consider my off road use to fall under ABUSE in the warranty contract. That's the clause for their way out. They can and will void your warranty for various reasons.

We know what the law says, but in the real world I don't have a team of lawyers to fight General Motors. Do you?

And it is not just GM. Ford and Dodge are doing it too.

Yeah, my dealer said my warranty for wiring wouldn't be in effect because they wouldn't program my GM fog light kit because I didn't buy it from them and added a jumper diode to turn them on with the parking lights as well as activate the reverse lights when the cargo lights are on. I had come in because of a low oil pressure warning that popped up on my display a few hundred miles after I changed the oil on the truck. They even gave me grief about me doing my own oil changes because I did it it wasn't in their system so they couldn't verify it and recommended me having them change it. Not for $100 a pop and they put the wrong oil filter on my S10 I bought from them years ago! The guy said I should keep my oil and filter receipts for proof, even though I keep a detailed spread sheet of when I change it, mileage it was changed, mileage between changes and what oil/filter brand I use.
