Thank youWatch this. As a prior GM Tech, he shows the 3rd version of the dealer notice that shows how they’ll determine the engine swaps.
So next week, if they determine I need an engine, I'm walking home? That is true...and in writing.
Supposedly they are supposed to provide a rental if you are still under warranty. So next week, if they determine I need an engine, I'm walking home?
No one has seen the 000 bulletin. Only 001 and 002 have been released. 002 is for DEALER inventory, NOT customer vehicles. 001 is to inspect for P0016 code and change oil if it passes inspection which I believe involves cutting the filter open to inspect for metal particles. They change oil weight to 0W40 and give you a 10 year 150k mile warranty on the engine if it hasn't already been replaced. If they replace the engine, you get no additional warranty.Watch this. OK, thanks. Taking mine in on
As noted in N252494002, apparently if the engine has a build date prior to 24183, it falls under the replacement process. No one has seen the 000 bulletin. There was also this in the comments:
Text message from Garage Monkey Mechanics "Now we have to picoscope all used inventory thats on stop sale for which they released a different email basically saying 0w-40 and all the other stuff is on intergalactic backorder for the L87 and services can't be completed. But we need to be using a harness they are shipping to us."
Ok, that is what I am afraid of. The truck is a 2023, and definitely falls withing the parameters of the recall. I had also read that if your engine passes, you are given additional warranty on it. It is still under the factory warranty now.Supposedly they are supposed to provide a rental if you are still under warranty.
If you look at the above video and the N252494002 update, they've reverted back to 0-20 oil, but apparently expanded the engine replacements.Ok, that is what I am afraid of. We have a camping trip in July, and I need to tow my camper. I cant afford to have them "confiscate" the truck.
I will probably cancel the appt. since right now I cant afford to be without it.
I did watch the whole video, and I read a small section about not allowing the used ones on the road. I know these fail without warning, but so far mine has been great, and I drive it like I stole it. Now I'm not really sure what I am going to do.. I think I'll call the dealer Monday and see what they say.If you look at the above video and the N252494002 update, they've reverted back to 0-20 oil, but apparently expanded the engine replacements.
